Ambush Makeover

Brooke and I got to live out one of our real-life fantasies pretending to be these two for a day:

Seriously, Stacy and Clinton have a great day job. If you don’t recognize them, they did hundreds of ambush makeovers on their show “What Not to Wear”. Makeovers are so much fun and can give anyone a boost of confidence. We will show you the results of our Ambush Makeover tomorrow!

Obsession: Blue & White Stripes

Ok, seriously this sign described exactly how I was feeling when I was MELTING in the Washington DC heat earlier this summer!

I find myself wearing blue and white stripes at least once a week. They just scream summer to me.
I wore this get-up in North Carolina earlier this summer. I feel like east-coasters share the love for all things nautical.

I realize I look like I either have a food baby or am expecting a child in this pic, so forgive the bad angle…

And finally, I HATE swimsuit pics, but I’m relatively covered up in this one.

Gotta love the stripes!

Twin Tested: Eyebrow Taming

We inherited our dad’s eyebrows, which means they are dark and thick. We have always tweezed, but decided it would be fun to try something different. I got my eyebrows waxed (painless, easy) and Brooke got hers threaded (terrifying, painful). You can see our reactions, along with Ron Bird’s here:

Twin Tested: Eyelashes

Brooke tried Latisse, I tried the cheaper, all natural brand you can buy at Sephora. It stung my eyes every time I put it on, but I have noticed that my eyelashes have grown a little bit longer and fuller.

Brooke liked Latisse, but said she only saw her lashes grow a little bit, and DID NOT notice any change in eye color, which can be one of the scary side effects if you have blue eyes. The one catch with Latisse is that you do have to get a prescription for it from a doctor.

Mary Nickles and Debbie Worthen both confessed to using Latisse on the show this morning. Debbie said she has had to TRIM her eyelashes because they were getting too long! We will let you know if we see similar results in the upcoming weeks and months.
It was fun to try something I have been so curious about!

Swimsuits for Every Size

We are willing to wear a lot of things on tv… EXCEPT for bathing suits!
It’s not that we are not confident, it’s just that we broadcast in HD (high definition), which means you can see everything! So, we found some cute models to wear them for us…
Check out the segment here.
Two other favorites we did not include:

Mary’s Makeover

We got the fun challenge of giving morning anchor Mary Nickles a makeover! We took her to a cute boutique in Draper called Luxe Couture. Honestly it was hard to decide on an outfit, but we finally did!

Watch the fun here.

Twin Tested: Hair Extensions

Twin Tested is a series where we try out different beauty and style products that you may be too scared to! This time around we checked out the different options in hair extensions…

Brooke was the daring one and got permanent, while I just got clip-ins. We both had them professionally done, which made a HUGE difference.

But…we wanted to know what people think…watch here promise it will be worth it!

Awards Season

We have been constantly drooling over all of the fabulous red carpet looks this season. We felt like celebs really classed it up this year and looked great. For this segment, we chose some of our favorite looks from the Oscars and then found similar dresses at our local boutique Lily & Iris. I wanted to take all of the dresses home! Made both of us wish we had a fancy party to attend! Please notice how utterly awkward it is trying to fit 5 people talking into one segment… you live and learn I guess.

So our top four Oscar dresses are….envelope please….
